Adopting a dog from WRAR
White River Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue group.
Meaning we DO NOT have a physical shelter for you to come visit.  Dogs are housed in private residences throughout New England and Southern states.

Our adoption fee for our dogs and puppies is $500. This includes all necessary vetting while the dog is in our care. We provide, but are not limited to: Vaccinations, de-worming, heart-worm prevention, heart-worm treatment, if needed, tick/flea treatment, emergency vet care, microchipping, spaying/neutering of dogs 4 months and older. The adoption fee also covers transport from the South to New England.

The steps to adopting a new dog are:

1. Fill out adoption application with all required information. We will be unable to complete applications with missing information.

2. If we decide to proceed with your application one of our volunteers will call you when time allows for a phone interview.

3. After a phone interview is complete we will check your references and contact you to schedule a home visit.

4. Once a home visit is completed we will notify you of the status of your application and if approved, any information about picking up your new family member.

Please Note: We are an all volunteer rescue organization meaning we help rescue dogs in our spare time. We try to contact all applicants within a timely manner, but if you have applied and have not heard back from us  after 4-5 days please send us a follow up email to WRARAdoptions@gmail.com.

We will only adopt a puppy (under 5 months of age) to adopters who are either home ALL day or can bring the puppy to work.  This is for the benefit of the puppy and there are NO exceptions to this rule within our organization.
