I love going for walks with my foster! She has me in a gentle leader, which I hate, but it keeps me safe. I am not destructive, very rarely bark and absolutely love pig ears. I can never ever be off leash, so only people who have a fenced yard or plan to walk me on a leash EVERYWHERE, should apply.

Dakota

Name: Dakota
Gender:
 Male
General Age: Young
Breed: Great Pyrenees
Coat Length: Medium
Adoption Fee: $500

- My name is Dakota, and contrary to my feminine name, I'm a hopelessly romantic boy, who only yearns for the company of the ladies. I don't hang around other boys anymore, so keep them away from me.

You look like you run around the French Alps. What breed are you?
- I'm a full-blooded Great Pyrenees, and I exhibit classic Pyr behavior. My ancestors were mountain dogs, and guarded livestock.

You look pretty massive. How old are you?
- They say I'm 3-5 years old, so you could say I'm in my prime. You think I'm massive? I am not really that big, just SUPER FLUFFY. I am about 100 lbs. .Check me out in person.

What's your educational background?
- I come from the School of Hard Knocks. I can do basic commands, but I'm still a bit stubborn to learn new behaviors. What can I say? My ancestors didn't win any awards for being obedient. However, I'm very treat motivated.

Any work experience?
- I think of myself as the Guardian of the Galaxy. I consider the UPS delivery van as the biggest threat to mankind, and will charge up and down the house or outdoors to protect my loved ones. I'm also a veteran sleep-specialist, and will collapse onto the floor with a deep sigh, to nap for hours on end.

What are your strengths?
- I zoom to my crate excitedly during bedtime, and I also love cuddling with everyone, without playing favorites. You can say that I'm a quintessential crowd-pleaser as I'm as comfortable alone as I am with a big group of people. I also love to hike, and I'm working on my leash manners.

Any weaknesses?
- I slobber a lot, I shed a lot, and I'm still learning not to keep my mouth open when jumping/roughhousing. I will bark, but don't be alarmed as I'm only trying to neutralize threats. I'm also a little protective of my body, but I'm learning that no one is trying to hurt me.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
- Five years of living with my forever home, ideally in a relaxed rural setting, with enough freedom to be independent, and a loving family to protect, play with, and snuggle with.

What makes you stand out as an ideal adoption candidate? - I'm very loyal, protective, calm, and huggable. My breed was designated as the 'Royal Dog of France', so I'm practically royalty. Adopt me today!

This tall handsome boy is Dakota. He is full-blooded Pyr and our vet said he is 3-5 years old. He is comfortable with female dogs. Male dogs put him on the defensive. He has been good at doggie daycare.  Dakota seems fine with dog savy cats but will chase them on occassion. He is really sweet one-on-one with people, He is very snuggly and loves to be petted. He really enjoys the outdoors.  Dakota is crate trained and will hop into the car.
