What We Do

Simply put, we transport dogs from troubled environments, place them with committed fosters and/or adopters who may possess the skills necessary to meet these animals’ special needs.

Our Story

White River Animal Rescue was launched in 2009 by Amy Knight.

WRAR has rescued over 8500 dogs from euthanasia or starvation as a stray.

Our Team

Amy Knight, WRAR’s founder, has been rescuing dogs for nearly 15 years.

Julie adopted a puppy from WRAR and has been volunteering for over a year.

Kathy specializes in fostering puppies between 2 and 6 months of age.

We are a tax-exempt organization and are licensed to adopt in the following states: Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, and Rhode Island.
